Clinical research is going through a difficult time in Switzerland as well as in Europe. The number of studies conducted in Switzerland is decreasing, and so is the number of experts working in the clinical research field. There are many reasons for this development. It is vital, however, to look to the future. What needs to be done? On the one hand, quality and time remain the two key factors when choosing a location for a study. On the other hand, fostering an open dialogue with all interested parties, including the public, as well as building up networks with other countries are essential for the future of clinical research in Switzerland. Furthermore, well-qualified and experienced staff is needed to ensure high quality in Swiss clinical research in the future.

The SCTO offers the necessary training and access to national and international networks and platforms. In addition, the SCTO organises events  in order to shed light on current issues and challenges in clinical research from a Swiss perspective and to find common solutions.
